Question 1

Is the demo really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We build it before you pay anything. If you don't like it, you don't owe us a thing and we take it down.

Question 2

How do you build a demo without talking to me?

Accepted Answer

We use public information — your Google Business Profile, existing website, listed services and public reviews — plus AI-assisted design tools. A person on our team reviews every demo before we send it.

Question 3

Is there an upfront build fee?

Accepted Answer

No. The setup fee is $0. You pay a monthly subscription that covers hosting, SSL and small edits; Growth and Pro add Google Business Profile help and basic local SEO.

Question 4

Do prices include tax?

Accepted Answer

No. Our prices don't include DC sales tax, which is added at checkout and on each invoice. The current rate is 6%, so a Starter plan at $129/mo would be $136.74/mo including tax. The rate is set by the District and can change; it's currently scheduled to rise to 7% from October 1, 2027.

Question 5

Can customers book appointments on my site?

Accepted Answer

Your site can include a Book, Reserve or Order button that links straight to the booking or ordering provider you already use — for example OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Square, Toast, ChowNow, Calendly, Housecall Pro or Jobber. We don't run a booking system ourselves; the button sends customers to the tools you already have.

Question 6

What counts as a small edit?

Accepted Answer

Changes to existing content — hours, prices, menu items, text, photos or contact details — each taking under about 30 minutes. Starter includes 1 small edit request per month; Growth includes up to 10 and Pro up to 20. On Starter and Growth we aim to complete small edits within about 2 business days; on Pro we aim to complete small edits by the next business day. New sections, redesigns and new features are quoted separately before any work.

Question 7

What does Pro add?

Accepted Answer

Priority service. Pro includes up to 20 small edits per month, we aim to complete small edits by the next business day, one new page per quarter included, and a 30-minute quarterly review call covering your site and Google Business Profile.

Question 8

Is there a contract?

Accepted Answer

No. Plans are month-to-month and you can cancel any time with 30 days' notice.

Question 9

What happens if I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Your site stays live through your last paid month, then goes offline. Your domain, logo, photos, menu and text are always yours, and we'll send them back to you on request. If you'd like to keep the site itself, you can buy it out (see below).

Question 10

Do I own my website?

Accepted Answer

Your content and domain are always yours. The design, template and code are Nuvant's and licensed to you while you subscribe. After 12 paid months the site is yours outright, and we'll give you a full export you can host anywhere.

Question 11

What does a buyout cost?

Accepted Answer

(12 − months paid) × your monthly plan price, and $0 once you've paid 12 months. For example, a Starter site cancelled after 1 month would be 11 × $129 = $1419. Full details are in our Terms of service.

Question 12

Can I use my own domain?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The domain is registered in your name — and if we register it for you, we transfer it to you free on request at any time. You pay the domain registration fee directly to the registrar; it is not included in your plan.

Question 13

Who is this for?

Accepted Answer

Local independent businesses — Café, Coffee shop, Restaurant, Laundromat, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Roofing, Landscaping, Cleaning, Painting, Handyman — in Washington, DC. We're launching in DC first; Virginia and Maryland are coming soon, and you can join the waitlist on the areas page.

Question 14

Can you promise rankings or leads?

Accepted Answer

No. Nobody can honestly promise Google rankings. We set up the basics properly — fast pages, clear service info, local SEO and a well-maintained Google Business Profile.

Straight answers.

Let's build yours first.
